Lexie Alford, una mujer estadounidense de 21 años, se convirtió en la persona más joven en haber viajado a todos los países del mundo. ¡Leíste bien!

Según Lexie, esta pasión por viajar surgió cuando era niña, ya que sus padres eran dueños de una agencia de viajes en California. Así que, con tan sólo 12 años comenzó su objetivo: conocer cada país del planeta, por lo que al cumplir los 18, ya conocía 72 países.

ITS OFFICIAL!!🥳 After years of travel, months of planning & mountains of paperwork to prove it- I'm now the Guinness World Record Holder for the Youngest Person to Travel to Every Country!🤩🌍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's been a crazy week celebrating here in NYC & having the Today Show surprise me with this certificate yesterday was literally a dream come true. I've been spending a lot of time reflecting on what I've taken away from traveling to 196 countries & honestly I feel like I've only just scratched the surface of how much there is to explore! Traveling to all these places around the world taught me that countries aren't as black and white as lines on the map. There's actually this beautiful, interconnected tapestry of cultures, beliefs and landscapes that blend together to create this strange & wonderful world we live in.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's been such an honor & a privilege to experience so much and to share this journey with all of you. I definitely couldn't have done it without the many special people I encountered along the way. What did I LEARN from traveling to every country?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is the question that’s been on my mind the most recently. It’s going to take years to unpack everything but here’s a few of my favorite realizations so far:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -My favorite places in the world ended up being where I least expected them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ – I was genuinely surprised how accessible the world felt to me as a young woman.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -The magic of traveling isn't actually about the place, its about the people who live there & the people you came there with.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -Traveling to every country made me immensely grateful for so many things, especially for the passport I carry. It reminded me not to take it for granted since so many people don’t have access to the same privileges.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -You could travel to a completely new place every day for the rest of your life and never run out of things to do.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -Despite coming from very different environments and growing up with different values and economic situations; I experienced nothing but kindness from the people I encountered all around the world. If anything, it’s the small differences and details that makes discovering new cultures such a beautiful experience. The world would be so boring if everything was the same everywhere! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This post was inspired by the YouTube video I'm making right now. I’m still celebrating all the little victories that happened along the way🎉 One of the most difficult aspects of traveling to every country is, of course, VISAS. Applying for all these visas has been a logistical nightmare that’s haunted me for years now. It’s been so stressful I can’t even begin to explain. For perspective, here’s all the countries I had to get visas for as an American citizen (NOT including visa on arrival and evisas): #Algeria, #Libya, #Afghanistan, Mali, #Niger, #BurkinaFaso, #Chad, #CentralAfricanRepublic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, #EquatorialGuinea, #Angola, #Benin, #Nigeria, #RepublicOfTheCongo, #Liberia, #Gambia, #Burundi, #Djibouti, #Eritrea, #Tanzania, #Sudan, #SouthSudan, #Somalia, #Yemen, #China, #Brazil, #Venezuela, #SaudiArabia, #Turkmenistan, #Uzbekistan, #India & #Pakistan. I might have even forgotten a few but hopefully you can see why! I loved getting to visit all of these awesome places but I’m going to need to take a long break from the bureaucracy of obtaining all these silly stickers in my passport😂
